Research Showcase 2012

As part of the yearly tradition to showcase the research and development eorts at IIIT Delhi, we present IIIT Delhi Research Showcase 2012. This event provides the students of IIIT with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate work-in-progress/completed course projects, research or development work and receive invaluable feedback from peers, faculty and visitors in an informal setting. We thank you for your interest in helping us make this event accessible to a larger audience. What is IIIT-D Research Showcase? IIIT Delhi is a research lead organization and continuously eorts to carry out research and development in information and software technologies, and in lever aging IT in specic domain areas. This vision is reected in course structure and general outlook of the students, leading towards several innovative ideas, projects and prototypes. This event includes some of the recent innovations by various research groups at IIIT-D. Who are the audience? Research Showcase is intended for faculty of other institutes, industry profession als, media, students, parents and other tech-savvy visitors. Anyone interested to visit IIIT-Delhi campus to interact with students and provide feedback on their display are cordially invited. Research via collaboration is highly valued by the research groups of IIIT Delhi. The institute regularly appoints highly suitable research assistants and interns in the various research groups. The Research Showcase is an ideal venue to gauge likemindedness in dierent research projects that might result in collaborations or internship opportunities. We envision that several of these connections will lead to future applicants for master and PhD programs in the institute. Planned Events Invited Talks We invite researchers and company CTOs to present a talk on both days of the event. Day Quiz An entertaining tech quiz to help break the ice is planned on both days of the event.

What we require from our sponsors? IIIT Delhi has graciously funded most major costs of the event; however, addi tional support from sponsors can help us in Broadening our reach to a more academic institutes across Delhi Increase competitive spirit though more attractive prize incentives More prizes and give-aways during the quiz competition Research Showcase- 2011 RS 2011 presented about 30 posters, more than 15 by under graduates. We had students and visitors from colleges across Delhi such as DU, IP, DCE,and NSIT. We also had researchers from IBM TJ Watson Research Centre, IBM India Research Labs, TCS Innovation Labs, DRDO, NIC, IIT Delhi, and ABB Corporate Research to advise and judge the posters.
