Introduction

Dear Reader,
I had an inspiration to write on the subject, Good people are a problem to God when I was thinking on the
good things I will do for people if I am financially blessed. I felt that God was saying to me, mind your
business; I have mind my own.

There are people who need this truth; my prayer is that you will benefit from what I have been able to put
down.

How do you define the word good; I guess it will be the general definition people give to the word. The
word good will naturally mean an act that will bring a positive impact on the lives of people; so a good
man will be seen as a man that does good things. A philanthropist is considered a good man; a man that
helps another achieve success is seen to be a good man; a great giver is considered a good man. I guess
you have heard the statement, ‘givers never lack.’

Your concept of a bad man will be a direct opposite of the words good man; so the man that did bad things
to you years ago is a bad man. So it’s possible that you have an anger for someone who have deprived you
have some favor; owe you money and has refused to pay; someone who has hurt you in the past; a person
who has refused to help you. Today you may be successful and you may have concluded that you are self
made man, because the people whom you expected to help you didn’t, yet you succeeded on your own.
It’s natural for you to view these people as evil and you may have concluded that you don’t want to have
anything to do with them again in your life; I am sure that there are people that you have closed the door
on. Your father or uncle or aunty or brother or in-law etc may be included in the list.
Let me ask you a question that is if you have experienced a positive change in your life; what will the
outcome of your life have turned out to be if they had helped you? My summation is that you will never
have achieved the level of success that you have achieved now. The reason is that, it was their refusal to
help you that made room for the latent power that God has placed in you to find expression. What you
have called evil action has actually been used by God to bring out some thing positive in your life; Wow!

In the Bible, you will find good acts condemned by God and bad acts that God used to lift people up.
Joseph’s brothers hated him and sold him out. For twelve years he was in Egypt as a slave; he was lied on
and locked up in prison for an offense he had a clear conscience on. Those twelve years would have been
terrible years for him; irrespective of how he was treated my Portipher, he was still a slave and slavery
never gives honor despite the position the slave may be placed in his master’s house. It was natural in his
low moments which will be many, to hate his brothers and to wish all hell will break loose in their lives.
Natural dislike for them would have grown in his heart because he would have seen his pain and misery as
needless. After it all, he became the prime minister; today we all learn a lesson of the faithfulness of God.
However, people miss out the point that when people do to you what is wrong, never hate them because in
the programme of God for your life, its part of the path to your getting to His predestined destination for
your life. Joseph told his brother that it was God that brought him to Egypt to preserve their lives; he
didn’t curse them nor ask them to be killed for their betrayal. Without his been sold, he would never have
been made a prime minister; all we would have read of him was that he lived and died.

There was a man good in the Bible that did an act that God paid him with death that if you read his story,
you will have a natural anger for what happened to him. Uzzah, the man anyone will call good, did a good
act and got sudden death as a reward. The ark of God was shaken and presumably will fall; so he gave a
helping hand to prevent that and instead, God killed him for his good action. Even David was angry that
God killed him: what do you call Uzzah’s action, good or bad? I guess good, you will say.

When you try to define things from human concept and that of God, you’ll find that the way they both
view things are completely different. In the story of Joseph, the actions of his brother will be called bad by
anyone who reads the story; but in the story of Uzzah, the action of God was uncalled for. God’s
definition of good and bad is tied to purpose and not intention. What do you call Joseph’s brothers
after the experience? An evil people or good people? I guess evil will be the word. People who did evil to
their brother you will say; yet I believe that they are good people because through their acts they allowed
the will of God to be fulfilled. God is far smarter than the devil and the human race; don’t forget that
if the prince of this world had known, they will not have killed the Lord of glory. What do you call the
action of Uzzah? Good; yet in the perspective of God he had gone against his purpose for living and death
is the natural thing that happens to anyone living outside of his purpose.

This topic came strong in my heart in Lagos University Teaching Hospital where I had gone to see my
wife (she just put to bed); I was thinking of what I will do for the Lord if He blesses me financially and He
inspired my heart with the word, good people are a problem to God. After pondering on the statement, I
have come to a conclusion that one of God’s problem on earth (permit me to say that) are good people.
They are Mr. or Mrs. (Miss) available; they are always there for people who come to them for a need. I
strongly believe that God don’t need us to get His work done on earth (what I mean is, to need us to do
things outside of our purpose to get things done). There is nothing more dangerous in the plan of
God than a good man who stands as a hindrance to His will been done the way He had planned it before
the foundation of the earth.

God has built this world in a system that things will work if everyone remains in his place of purpose; so
the excuse that an individual will give that he wants to finance the work of God while he neglect his place
of calling is not acceptable. Many have dreams that if the Lord just bless them, they will give to the needs
of people and the church they attend, making God appear that He needs them to get His job done. Many
destinies lies four feet under the ground because all of their lives they did things that people celebrate but
left what they were created to do. They were busy bodies in other peoples business and left their own job
undone; in the end many will end up in heaven with the word ‘welcome‘ but miss the words ‘well
done.’
God’s system will cater for all of the needs of the people who will take the risk of obeying Him; so the
fear that if you do His will, you will end up been poor should be counted out. The statement, ‘For every
purpose, there is a provision’ is a true statement; God knows all of your need per time and He has made
available for it before the foundation of the earth.

He is not a spontaneous God, but one who makes adequate arrangement for the provision of any of His
creation before that being even came to existence. If you lack anything in life, take time to look inwards;
are you in the place of your purpose?

Let me state emphatically that all of the people who have done evil to you were actually enabling God’s
intended purpose for your life to come to fulfillment. If they were not there, you will not see the glory set
before you, before the foundation of the earth. They are actually the best friends you have, not those that
pampered you. They are the ones that fuel your desire to become greater than what you once saw inside of
yourself.
Without them you will likely be a Mr. Nobody. God ask you to forgive because He knows that for every
evil done to a man on the path of His purpose, good will come out of it in the end. Like Joseph, when
you have gotten to the throne; your mindset to all those that did evil to you is, God sent me here to
preserve for you a posterity on earth.

Don’t ever forget that God has built a system that all things will work positively by if everyone stays in
His plan and purpose for their creation; to get out of order irrespective of your intention only brings crisis
in the already laid down plan. Knowing God’s purpose, been sensitive to His leading and acting them
out is far better than any good works you may want to do in the flesh for him. There are people that
will call you bad because in your heart, you don’t feel like been Mr. Nice to them: some people just don’t
want to grow up, take responsibility for your lives and depend on Him; He wants you to stop been Mr.
Nice to some people in your life. Uzzah did what you will call a good work, but his reward was something
that was sure, death before his time. If you keep on getting out of order, you may be preparing yourself
for early death. It is better to be mean and obey God than to be nice and end up with His wrath.
