Event Overview

- The 3 week Festival will take place between August 16 September 9 - There will be 40 attending Musicians, Artists, Dancers and Community Leaders from 4 participating cultural groups Maya, Garifuna, Thai and Coast Salish - There will be Festival Events in 4 Locations Vancouver/Sunshine coast, Victoria/Sooke, Duncan/Saltspring Island and Nanaimo/Gabriola Island - At Each Location there will be a Festival Presentation, Concert and Dinner Event for up to 200 people - At Each Location there will be a Community Dance Event for up to 200 people - At Each Location there will be a Family Festival Camp Event for up to 100 people - A total of up to 2000 people will directly attend events.

The Purpose and Vision of the Festival is to promote sharing and understanding between Peoples and Cultures around the world through caring and appreciation of Traditional Skills, Teachings and Arts and the Natural Environments in which they were born and flourish. We hope to support and instill an appreciation for Nature, Wilderness and Traditional Culture in our Communities and particularly in our Youth. Earth Track Education has been working with Youth and Families in Nature Education and Cultural Events in BC, Thailand and Belize for 12 years with great success and support in our community.
