Main Aim Topic: (1.2) Parts of a plant

Learning By the end of the lesson, students should be able to


Objectives
 Name the basic parts of a plant (root, stem, leaf, flower.)
 Identify the function of each plant part in simple terms.
 Label the parts of a plant in a diagram.

Lesson procedure:
Day 1  Show a real plant and ask, “Can you name any part of this plant?”
 Show each part of plant (root, stem, leaf, flower) using real plant.
 Explanations:
o Roots collect water. The roots hold the plants still.
o The stem holds the leaves and flower up.
o The leaf makes food for the plant.
o The flower is the part where the seeds are made.
Teaching materials: YouTube video, real-life object

Lesson Procedure: Recalling the previous lesson starting from a question,


Day 2
 What do the roots do?
 What do the flower do?
 What do the leaf do?
 What do the stem do?
And then the students complete exercise from the Workbook (Pg 5 to7).

Objectives  Know that plant need light and water to survive.

Day 3 Lesson procedure: After show the YouTube video,


 Show a plant and ask, “what do you think plants need to grow?”
 Explain that plants need light and water to make their own food.
 Explain “Plants need light to make food and stay green. Without light,
they grow tall but weak and turn yellow.

Objective  Know that plant need light and water to survive.
 Make predictions about what they think will happen.

Day 5 Lesson procedure: Explain


 Some plants live near water.
 Some plants live in water.
 Some plants live in dry place.
 And then if plants do not have enough water they can die. If plants have
too much water they can die.

(2.1) Sound source

Learning By the end of the lesson, students will be able to


Objective  Identify different sources of sound.
 Identify natural and man-made sound sources.
 Name examples of everyday sound sources (e.g. animals, instruments)

Day 6 Lesson procedure: After show the YouTube,


 What can you hear right now?
 Explain that some sound sources come from nature (e.g. birds, wind,
thunder) and some sounds are man-made (e.g. cars, musical instruments).
 A thing that makes a sound is called a sound source.
 Some sound sources use electricity.
Teaching Materials: Cambridge Learner’s book and YouTube video, three or four
sounds, for example, a bell, a stapler, a whistle

Day 7 Main Aim: (2.2) Loud and quite


Learning objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to
 Distinguish between loud and quite sounds.
 Sort and group objects, materials and living things based on observations
of the similarities and difference between them.
Lesson procedure: Play a sound (e.g. clapping hands, whisper, etc.) and ask
students:
o “What sound do you hear?”
o “Is it loud or quite?”
Use object to demonstrate sounds
o Strike a desk (ask:” Is this loud or quite?”)
o Tear a paper or tap a pencil (ask: “Is this quite?”)
And then, students match pictures of sound sources to loud and quite categories.

Day 8 All lesson revision.
