Safety precautions when using power tools

1. Electrical supply system will be checked by competent electrician,


2.follow project color coding system.
3.No tampering or unauthorized modifications on electrical tools and systems —
repairs will be done by competent electricians only. Assign only trained personnel
for the job, ensure portable power tools are in good condition and fitted with
proper guards.
4.Electrical circuit should be connected with ELCB.
5.Use only industrial weatherproof sockets. Avoid trailing of cables.
6.Check blades/fly wheels before using. 7.Ensure regular inspection of power
tools. 8.Use appropriate task required PPE.
9.All hazards & risk involved in the task should be conveyed to the workforce by
the supervisory staff through TBT, Risk assessment & Method Statement briefing
prior to start the work and close supervision.
10.Ensure proper training and supervision at all times
11.Ensure no loose clothing worn by the operators.
12.Finger tight Hand gloves to be worn. 13.Ensure there are no gaps between the
metal pads on the left-hand side of machine.
14.Keeping the pedal start and emergency stop button free of any kind of
obstructions on the same side as operation.
15.Ensuring use of clear safety spectacles.
16.All the rotating parts to be guarded.
17.All electrical cabling in the workplace must be neatly tied off or routed so as
not to present a trip hazard.
18.Ensure where such wiring must run across ground it must be protected by
ramps or conduit.
19.All hazards & risk involved in the task should be conveyed to the workforce by
the supervisory staff through TBT, Risk assessment & Method Statement briefing
prior to start the work.
20.Ensure proper training and supervision at all times
