Warm greetings of peace and service!
In line with the Department of Education’s mandate to ensure safe,
resilient, and conducive learning environments for all learners, I respectfully
write to seek your honorable office’s assistance in addressing the recurring
flooding problem in our Senior High School site.
Our school has been experiencing frequent inundation during moderate
to heavy rainfall, resulting in the suspension of classes, damage to school
property, and exposure of learners and personnel to health and safety hazards.
Aside from disrupting the delivery of instruction, these floods also compromise
the structural integrity of our facilities, thereby requiring continuous repair
and maintenance that strain limited school resources.
After consultations and site assessments, it is deemed necessary to
establish a ring dike around the school premises as a flood mitigation measure.
This intervention will serve as a protective barrier against floodwaters,
significantly reducing the risks to both life and property. More importantly, it
will ensure continuity of education and preserve government investments in
school infrastructure.
In this regard, we earnestly request the support of your esteemed office
in the planning, funding, and implementation of this critical project through
the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. We trust that
with the strong partnership between the Local Government Unit and the
Department of Education, we can safeguard the welfare of our learners and
uphold the community’s aspiration for a safe and resilient school environment.
