ABSTRACT
This report presents a detailed account of the practical training conducted at NEAR
JODNAPURA,PALANPUR from 02nd July 2025 to 15th July 2025. The training was
part of the ongoing construction project by AMI INFRABULID LLP, focused on a
residential building with a 2BHK layout distributed over two floors. The report
encompasses key aspects of the project, including project information and observations
made during the two-week training period. Various construction activities were actively
observed, such as column construction, masonry, and slab formwork. The report also
covers the materials used, construction procedures, and the practical application of
theoretical concepts. Insights gained from the site engineer's step-by-step explanations
highlight the differences between theoretical knowledge and real-world construction
practices, underscoring the value of hands-on experience in understanding construction
processes.

3.1 BAR CUTTING MACHINE:
A cutter machine is used in construction to cut steel reinforcement bars
into desired lengths.
Cutting capacity varies from 6mm to 50mm diameter of the bar.
Used in civil construction work during bar bending & cutting stage.
It typically employ strong blades which are capable slicing the matel.
3.2 PLUMB BOB:
it is used for checking verticality.
To check vertical alignment of walls, columns, pillars during construction.
Used by masons for brickwork to keep the wall straight and vertical.
Gujarat Technological University 13 GEC Palanpur
3.3 SPRIT LEVEL:
A spirit level is a simple tool used in construction and surveying to check whether
a surface is perfectly horizontal (level) or vertical (plumb).
To check horizontal level of surfaces (floors, beams, slabs, tables, etc.)
To check vertical alignment of walls, columns, doors, windows.
3.4 VIBRATOR:
A concrete vibrator is a tool used to compact freshly placed concrete by
removing trapped air and voids.
A needle vibrator, also known as an internal or poker vibrator, is a construction tool used
to compact freshly poured concrete, eliminating air pockets and ensuring a dense, strong
final product.
To remove air bubbles and voids from concrete.
To increase density and strength of concrete.
improve bonding between reinforcement and concrete
Gujarat Technological University 14 GEC Palanpur
3.5 CONCRETE MIXER:
A concrete mixer (often colloquially called a cement mixer) is a device that homogeneously
combines cement, aggregate such as sand or gravel, and water to form concrete. A typical
concrete mixer uses a revolving drum to mix the components.
At my site, a tilting type concrete mixer was used. The drum tilts to discharge the mixed
concrete.
Ideal for producing high-quality concrete.
Capacity: 47 m3 Per Day.
Gujarat Technological University 15 GEC Palanpur
4.1.1 RAINFORCEMENT:
Bar Diameter: Longitudinal bars should have a minimum diameter of 12 mm, and there must
be a minimum of four bars in a rectangular column and six in a circular one..
Spacing: Stirrups are spaced closer together near the top and bottom of the column to
provide more confinement in areas of high stress. The maximum spacing of these ties is
typically based on the least lateral dimension of the column, the diameter of the smallest
longitudinal bar, or a maximum limit like 300 mm.

4.1.3 THE CASTING OF THE COLUMN:
The column shall be cast with M25 grade concrete of mix proportion 1:1:2 using well-graded
aggregates of maximum size 20–25 mm, ensuring a characteristic strength not less than 25 MPa.
The concrete shall be placed carefully in layers to
avoid segregation and honeycombing. Each layer
shall be compacted thoroughly using a poker
vibrator to expel entrapped air and voids, ensuring
proper cover to the reinforcement bars. Adequate
curing shall be carried out to achieve the required
strength, durability, and resistance against
aggressive environmental effects.

5.2 SHEAR WALL FORMWOK:
Shear walls are vertical structural elements designed to resist lateral forces such as
wind, earthquake, and seismic loads, providing stability to the building.
They help prevent excessive swaying and structural failure during horizontal loading
conditions.
Shear walls transfer both vertical (gravity) loads and lateral loads safely to the
foundation.
They contribute to the rigidity and stiffness of the structure, reducing deflection and
vibration.
Reinforcement bars of 12MM and 16MM are commonly used for vertical
reinforcement in shear walls, depending on design requirements.
Shuttering (formwork) for shear walls should be strong and properly aligned to
withstand the pressure of fresh concrete and to maintain accurate wall thickness.

CHPTER 9: INTERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Joining on the company:
After completion of 6th semester, Gujarat technological university introduced internship
program for 7th semester students, so student get practical knowledge, site experience, etc. Through
internship program. So, I have been searching a hoisting company and I was approached AMI
INFRA BUILD LLP Pride of site In charge Mr. HITESHBHAI PATEL who given a chance for my
internship program. Then I went there at site to begin the work and join with their engineers and
workers. They introduce the overall site, drawings and staff with respect to their working
department.
In this section of my report, I will try to describe activities and practices that were done in
my hosting company during my internship time. I used observation method as well as participate in
all activities that have done in the site to achieve my task and to find out the practical knowledge.
Due to this internship my many skill are improved like :
Practical problem-solving skills
Time management and organization skills
Site management skills
Project management skills

CONCLUSION
Durability of a building depend mainly on proper construction process construction
process and proper use of materials.
Get knowledge about the basic & advanced techniques of building construction aswell
assaw the challenges which a civil engineer has face during construction i.e.,labour
problems, Time management etc. We cleared our many doubts regarding building
construction.
Gained basic knowledge in the field of construction.
Plaster is necessary to cover and protect the masonry from weathering factor. This
project is a very useful to learn about the design of the structural elementslike beams,
column and slabs by using IS 456-2000.
We learn about types of equipment and different design preparation.
It is about supervision and labour communication.
During the period of 3 month all the company staff helped us a lot to provide allthe
information about any query.
