Week of 5/7/12
It is hard to believe that we only have 26 days of school left. I have attached a schedule of events for the rest of the school year. Please mark your calendars. It is quite an extensive list. Our End of the Year Slide show/Awards ceremony is on Monday, June 11th. Parents are encouraged to join us for this meaningful event as we celebrate our incredible year together. On Wednesday and Thursday mornings this week, we will have our math review sessions from 8:00-8:30 AM. This weeks skills are multiples/factors and polygons. We have two exciting events this week. Our Grandfriends Luncheon is this T hursday, M ay 10 th . Please plan on arriving at the main office at 12:25 PM for conversation in the classroom and lunch from 12:45 1:30 PM in the gym. Our grandfriends should wait by the cafeteria until a student from our room comes down to escort them upstairs. We are looking for a couple volunteers to help with set up and clean up for the lunch. On Friday, M ay 11th, we have our field trip to SELCO. Chaperones have been notified. Please note the following upcoming Wax Museum due dates:

English Language Arts Our first persuasive piece is complete. We will begin to write a persuasive letter this week. Additionally, we will begin our Wax Museum projects and continue with our literature circle reading/sharing. Please be sure to check in with your child to be sure they are completing their Wax Museum project. Science We will explore electromagnets this week as we see how magnets can be turned on and off. A study guide will be coming home the following week for our assessment during the week of May 21st.

Math We will begin Unit 11. Please check in with your child to be sure they have completed the study link as well as the assigned math boxes each night. Additionally, a review packet for each math strand will be coming home weekly. Packets will be due on Friday of each week. Math MCAS is next week. Social Studies This week we will complete the West sub-region booklets before heading down to our neighbor to the south, Mexico!
