INSPECTION PARAMETERS
PREPARATION
Check the availability of relevant GFC drawings, Shop drawings and approved wind load design
details and Sample Board approval from QA
Check for the completion of all wet works, all tile works, Putty work completion with sanding, pimer
applciqtion and suarfce veriffication
Check the provided wall openings in conformation with the GFC drawings
Check available templates made in Aluminium to ensure right angle and size of the openings
Check correctness of right angles, level, straightness and plumb of all side of openings and any
defects shall be rectified with Ready mix plaster neatly in line.
Check window sill on the outer side of window frame has smooth finish with 5mm slope towards
outside for draining of rainwater
References for the level are taken from existing standard meter marks.
Close dimensional control on wall opening should be exercised to ensure the gap between wall and
window frame is within the range of 7-10mm.
Check the window frames and shutter are according to the required dimensions
Drill drain holes as per approved shop drawing, through the bottom of track for draining of rain water.
Check the windows are properly coated with powder coating.
Check the suitable scaffolding at necessary locations provided for window installation works.
Check the required tools and materials are available.
Check the DFT of coat, design details, `no of drain holes, Corner Mitre joint fishes to avoid water
leakage, glass thickness, EPDM uniform gap and fixity etc.
Esnure the Bottom sill has the slope towards outside or not a negative slope
Ensure Step sill granite if fixed to the internal gap, to be fixed after Farme insttalation and sealent
application on the gap is completed
FIXING OF WINDOW FRAME
Location of the Frame , edge of the external wall or in the middle to be done as per design drawings
details and mock-up approved
PVC Shim wedges are commonly used to temporarily hold the window frame in position within the wall
opening.
Erect window frames in position and prepared to drill holes into the frame to wall surface
Check the frame is in level and true alignment.
Fix the frame in perfect plumb (Recommed ETA ) approved SS screws with Nylon plug with minimum
embedment of 40mm to the RCC/Wall surafce 300mm c/c for bottom members and 450mm c/c for
vertical and top members or as per approved drawings. Two additional screws near lock one above
and other below the lock should be provided to reduce the impact.
Check the uniform gap is maintained between the frames and the wall opening
FIXING OF EPDM GASKET ( For Bottom Fixed windows)
Tightly fix the EPDM rubber gasket packing used for fixing of glass in the shutter
Check the EPDM gasket used should be of continues length.
Splices made at appropriate locations for good fitting around the corners of the glass panel.
FIXING OF SHUTTERS
Check the plumb of the vertical side of shutter.
Provide minimum two roller bearings per shutter.
Ensure the window shutter are provided with rubber bum stoppers
Check the shutter shall be properly fixed on the frames for true level and alignment.
Check the glass shutter is in level and true alignment.
Check after installation, glass shutter by sliding shall operate and function smoothly.
Check the window glass finish, properly cleaned glass free from cracks/holes/bubbles.
Check there is no scratches on the powder coating/anodised finish of window frame/ shutter
FIXING OF LOCKS/HANDLES
Drill holes on frames for fixing lock set
Check the locks are fixed firmly on frames by use of screws.
Drill holes on shutters for fixing handles
Check the handles are fixed firmly on shutters by screws
APPLICATION OF SEALANTS
Check before the application of sealant, clean the aluminium window frame and adjacent wall jambs
Esnure sealent is approved color code is as approved by Architect and Brand is as approved by QA
within expiry date.
Screw head, track inside( at drian line) and external face of Miter( corner 45 Degree) Joints of frames
sealed with all-weather proof structural silicone sealants
Check frame and wall surfaces around the gap should be protected with masking tape
Check the sealant is applied with Baker rod to inside and filled with all-weather proof structural
silicone sealants at outer fist and inside later using injection method.
Check silicon sealant is finished neatly
Check after applying sealants, the masking tape shall be removed
WATER TIGHTNESS TEST ( on sample basis- 10 % of windows)
Checklist for the window installation signed off with approval by PMC/GPL EIC
Check the Sealants at all junctions are properly applied and cured as per TDS (Visual inspection
before testing)
Check the EPDM Gaskets found to be end to end without any joint gaps
Check the damages/brittleness observed in sealant, gasket if any.,
Check the cleanliness of windows mainly bottom frame
Check the drainage gutter- Water Drain Kept Open
Check the calibration of all equipments’ used for water tightness test are found to be satisfactory
Check the MS being adopted during testing including Pressure (30-35 PSI), Distance (300mm) and
Time for testing at each Joints and junctures (5min) in the Window
Check any leakages are observed
Check any dampness observed on wall around Windows

Fix the frame in perfect plumb by anchor fastener.
Check the frame is in level and true alignment.
Drill drain holes as per approved shop drawing, through the bottom of track for draining of rain water.
Check the uniform gap is maintained between the frames and the wall opening
FIXING OF EPDM GASKET

Provide an internal slope for draining out water in bottom member over sill
Check the shutter shall be properly fixed on the frames for true level and alignment.
Check the glass shutter is in level and true alignment.
Check after installation, glass shutter by sliding shall operate and function smoothly.
Check the window glass finish, properly cleaned glass free from cracks/holes/bubbles.
Check there is no scratches on the powder coating/anodised finish of window frame/ shutter
FIXING OF LOCKS/HANDLES

Check the locks are fixed firmly on frames by use of screws.
Drill holes on shutters for fixing handles
Check the handles are fixed firmly on shutters by screws
FIXING OF MOSQUITO SCREEN
Check the plumb of the vertical side of shutter.
Provide minimum two roller bearings per shutter.
Check the shutter shall be properly fixed on the frames for true level and alignment.
Ensure that there is no defect or damage in any portion of the shutter
Check after installation, shutter by sliding shall function smoothly
APPLICATION OF SEALANTS
Check the window frames is cleanaed properly
Check frame and wall surfaces around the gap should be protected with masking tape
Check the sealant is applied first on outer side
Check silicon sealant is finished neatly with finger.
Check after applying sealants, the masking tape shall be removed
