**STUDENT MEDICATION: Students who are/were given medications by the clinic during the school year - - parents will need to pick the medication up by June 15. Any medication not picked up will be discarded by the clinic staff.

**HEALTH FAIR: Fri, June 11, 11:00am-3:00pm at Phoenix Family Health Care Center, 1581 HWY 98, Carrabelle.
Blood pressure & diabetes screenings, body mass index, local & medical vendors. Free vision & hearing screenings for children aged 2-5. Also, door prizes & food! **The Franklin County School District will participate in the Summer Food Service Program, administered by the Florida Dept. of Education, Food and Nutrition Management, from June 11 through Aug. 20, 2012. Breakfast & lunch will be served to children at no cost. The currently approved sites are: Apalachicola Project Impact, ABC Charter School, The Learning Center, and The Nest in Carrabelle & Eastpoint.
**NEST SUMMER PROGRAM: June 11- July 30 on Mondays - Thursdays (closed July 4th) from 8:00am-5:30pm at
both NEST locations! FREE breakfast & lunch served daily. Featuring: Art, Sewing, Drama, Music Lessons, Sports, Technology, Hands-on Science Activities, Field Trips, & More! Applications are available at the NEST sites, Franklin County School & on website: www.franklincountynest.org - Please return completed application to the program office.
**SCHOLARSHIP: 2011-2012 McKay Scholarship letters for students with disabilities can be viewed at
www.franklincountyschools.org/schoolcodeofconduct.htm.
In order for a student to be eligible for the program, intent to participate in the McKay Scholarship Program must be filed on the School Choice Website at www.floirdaschoolchoice.org prior to withdrawing from public school. The deadline to apply for the first payment period of the 2012-2013 school year is July 3, 2012.
GED CLASSES
The Franklin County Adult Education Courses are offering GED classes on Mondays & Tuesdays from 4:00-8:00pm at the Franklin County School. Register with Ms. Linda Bradley during class hours in the 1100 Building, Room 1111. The next GED Test will be given Aug. 6 & 7, 2012 at the Franklin County School library at 6:00pm. To register for the test, contact Linda Bradley during class times or Maxine Creamer @ 670-4481. The Franklin County Adult Education Courses do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, National origin, age, handicap, or marital status.
**PARENTS/ COMMUNITY: The Franklin County "Education Funding Accountability Report" is available for viewing on our district website - www.franklincountyschools.org - under "Financial Services." - Roy Carroll, Dir. Financial Services" **The Federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act states that children & youth who lack a
fixed, regular, & adequate nighttime residence are considered homeless. If, due to a loss of housing, a child must live in a shelter, motel, vehicle, campground, on the street, in abandoned buildings, or doubled-up with relatives or friends, then he/she is eligible to receive services provided under the McKinney-Vento Act.
