INTRODUCTION
"Just information is not education. It is culturing our behaviour, culturing our attitude and the ability to perceive things better. Perception, Observation and Expression - the three aspects of education have to be improved." - Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder of the Art of Living Foundation YES+ course is organised by The Art of Living Foundation which is a volunteer based humanitarian and educational Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It was founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with the vision of creating a stress-free, violence-free society. It claims to have reached out to over 300 million people in over 150 countries with its various programs. The Foundation is working in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. The International Association for Human Values is the sister NGO that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founded, that focuses on the upliftment of human values at the grass roots level. YES+ provides young adults between the ages of 18-24 with tools to achieve their ideal life with ease, creativity, energy, and inhibition-free. This program challenges young people to reach their highest potential and has made a difference to thousands across the world. Program overview: YES+ is an innovative and dynamic educational and life skills program for young students and professionals. YES!+ empowers young people with tools to eliminate stress, rid the system of negative emotions, develop strong social and leadership skills, heighten awareness and increase mental focus. This intense 26 hour program (spanning 6 consecutive days) also includes practical sessions on entrepreneurial skills, maximizing individual potential and physical, mental and emotional health. Main Aspects of the Program: 1) Physical Challenging body exercises yoga and innovative breathing techniques. 2) Mental Practical knowledge and interactive processes to improve memory, concentration &focus. 3) Social - Experiential processes to develop problem solving strategies and social skills; Interactive processes to develop leadership and life skills; Teamwork exercises to teach cooperation and conflict resolution. 4) Emotional Group discussions designed to help one feel at ease in challenging situations, and increase confidence and inner strength to better handle criticism and peer pressure. The Art of Living Course gives participants the practical knowledge and techniques to unlock their deepest potential and bring fullness to life. Whether happy and successful or feeling the stress of poor health, disappointments, or fear, every participant is cared for and comes away lighter, with effective techniques for releasing mental and physical stress and increasing his or her health, energy, peace, self-knowledge, awareness, and joy. Much of the stress or limitations in life come from vacillating between regret about the past and worry about the future. And yet, the present is the only place that happiness can be

experienced. A remarkable feature of the course is that participants are able to re-discover the present moment not as a concept but as a direct experience. Participants leave with simple but powerful techniques they can practice every day, and an extraordinary weekly group practice is available in many areas. These practices are sacred treasures that grow in value over the years, helping the benefits continue to blossom in daily life. Sudarshan Kriya: The masterpiece of the Art of Living Course is a powerful breathing-based technique called Sudarshan Kriya, or the healing breath. Sudarshan Kriya incorporates specific natural rhythms of breath to release stress and bring the mind to the present moment. The course also includes other breathing techniques, meditation, low-impact yoga, and skills for dealing effectively with challenging emotions and situations. Several independent studies on the numerous mental and physical health benefits of the course have been published in international peer-reviewed journals and confirm what participants commonly report. The Art of Living Course has been enjoyed by people of all traditions, religions, and walks of life, in universities, churches, governments, businesses, prisons, war zones, community rooms, and living rooms. The course is complete in itself and is also a foundation for other Art of Living programs

REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Yes+ course aims at shedding the layers of stress, learning about the connection between the mind, body, emotions and rhythms of breath. The course is conducted in many parts of the world and has benefited many people. Because of the world-wide acceptance and recognition, it attracted many researchers to conduct a study on the impact of the course. We studied few such research papers, brief summary of some of the papers is as follows: Mur thy, Gangadhar, Janakiramaiah, Subbakrishna (1997) conducted a study which compared 15 dysthymic and 9 melancholic depression patients to 15 normal control individuals on P300 amplitude and several depression scalesThe Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the Clinical Global Impressions Scale, and then treated the patients with Sudarshan Kriya and accompanying breathing practices (SK&P). It was found that SK&P was effective in treating mild and melancholic depression. Depressed people have a particular EEG brainwave abnormality which is measured by P300 ERP amplitude that was lower compared with healthy adults. By day 30 there was significant relief from depression in the groups treated with SK&P, as measured by the P300 amplitude and standard depression scales. By day 90 the P300 readings had returned to normal in the patients along with significant improvements in depression scores. Sharma, Singh (2003) carried out a study of biochemical indicators of stress which took baseline measures of three major antioxidants: superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, glutathione, as well as blood lactate levels. Antioxidants protect us from free radical damage; blood lactate is a biochemical indicator of stress. Study participants were healthy males undergoing a highly stressful professional training program (the Police Training Academy (PTA) in Delhi, India). The trainees practiced SKY for 5 months, while a matched comparison group of PTA trainees did not. At the end of 5 months, those who had practiced SKY showed significantly greater antioxidant production and significantly lower blood lactate compared to the control group. This pilot study suggests that regular practice of Sudarshan Kriya and accompanying practices leads to a better antioxidant defense and greater resilience to stress in daily life. Larger studies are needed to confirm these findings. Kochupillai, Kumar, Singh, Aggarwal, Bhardwaj, Bhutani (2005) studied that stress affects different systems in the body, including the immune system and the endocrine system, and thereby affects the whole physiology. Stress is also linked to the habit of tobacco consumption and substance abuse, which in turn leads to disease states. Previous research has suggested that Sudarshan Kriya (SK) and Pranayama (P), rhythmic breathing processes derived from yoga, reduce stress and improve immune functions. In this study, the possible affect of SK&P on natural killer (NK) cells, a critical cell type in the immune system which helps fight pathogens and cancer, was assessed in cancer patients who completed their standard therapy. SK&P practice correlated with increases in NK cell numbers, but not in the number of other immune cells. Furthermore, SK&P helped to reduce tobacco use in 21% of the individuals at 6 months of practice. Larger and randomized studies are needed, but these findings suggest that SK&P may help boost the immune system in cancer patients.

Sharma, Singh, Sen, Bhardwaj, Kochupillai, Singh (2008) compared possible changes in oxidative stress gene profiles of 43 Sudarhan Kriya (SK) practitioners with those of 42 control subjects who did not use any form of stress management program. The parameters studied were antioxidant enzymes, genes involved in oxidative stress, DNA damage, cell cycle control, aging, and apoptosis. Enzymatic activities and gene expression of specific antioxidant systems were increased in SK practitioners. It was found that the lifespan of the lymphocytes were increased which correlated with an increase in the expression of anti-cell death genes and prosurvival genes. This study suggests that SK may exert its effects on various physiological systems through changes in gene regulation. From the various studies, we observed that many studies have already been conducted focussing on the stress factor. But Yes+ course has an impact on various other factors like positive attitude towards life, confidence etc. which have been less focussed upon. So we intend to focus our study on these factors.

CONCLUSION
By analysing the results of the questionnaire, we find that there is a significant difference between the answers to the questions before and after the test. This difference has been seen in most of the questions. These questions were on based on different parameters which were the basis of our study. So we can conclude that Yes+ course has a positive impact on the 4 variables which are: Confidence level of an individual Perception and attitude of an individual Outlook towards life Concentration level of an individual
