Week 2 -3 Quarter 2
Description: This course tackles the lesson about Speeches according to Purposes.
I. Objectives
At the end of the week, students should be able to:

1. Discuss the different Speeches according to Purposes.


2. Appreciate the different Speeches according to Purposes.
3. Evaluate the Video according to the Speech’s Purpose.

The teacher will present a video. The students will analyze the video. The teacher will ask a
volunteer to answer the following questions based on the video.

1. What is your purpose in life?
2. What is a speech according to its purpose?
3. What will be our lesson for today?

 The teacher will discuss the new lesson about:
Four major Purposes of Speech:
To inform, to instruct, to entertain, and to persuade
 The teacher will explain the different types of Speech according to Purpose:

1. INFORMATIVE SPEECH- the speaker relays knowledge to an audience on a


specific topic. There are four distinct categories of topic: things, people, or places,
methods, events, ideas.

2. PERSUASIVE SPEECH - Convince the people to change in some way.


3. INSPIRATIONAL SPEECH-    It is a way to stir up people's higher-order values
and plant positive and valid ideals in life.
4. ENTERTAINING SPEECH- The primary purpose of a speech to entertain is to
have the audience relax, smile and enjoy the occasion. 
5. ARGUMENTATIVE SPEECH - encourage the audience to change their views or
opinions on a topic. 
 The students will share their examples in each type of speech.
 The teacher will present a topic according to the type of speech.
Example:
What is better: Paper books or E-Books?
 The students will be given a time to create their speech.
 The teacher will call some volunteers to perform their speech in the class.

The teacher will ask some students to summarize the lesson.
