HOPE

NO LONGER ALONE

Without any other way to survive, she has lived a life of prostitution since leaving her orphanage at 18. Shes spent time in mental hospitals because of her addictions and emotional pain. Jana knows nothing of love, though its not because she hasnt looked hard for it. Now, Jana is pregnant. We at LIFE for Orphans International continue to reach out to Jana with unconditional love and support. . LIFE has helped Jana with food, counseling, clothing, employment opportunities, all while working through a local church and the believers there. LIFE for Orphans is reaching the lives of Europes throw-aways, the forgotten orphan.

2011 - A Year of Hope and Opportunity

In only our second year of life, we saw many new opportunities to support and assist the forgotten and tragic lives of orphans in the Eastern European country of Latvia. Janis is 26 and completed the 10th grade last year, moving up to 11th grade last September. We sent young men to receive drug and alcohol treatment at Teen Challenge in Latvia this year. One young man, 22, has hepatitis C - we have guided him through his illness, providing clothes and food while working with an American family who is giving monthly on his behalf. Many have received food and medicines and clothes and other kinds of assistance through LIFE. Tutors are provided for those who are in school. How exciting it was to be able to sponsor 3 of our young men to leadership training with John Maxwells ministry. Much is happening through LIFE. We are so thankful to our LIFE family who prays and gives generously each month. All praise to Christ who supplies our needs and binds up the brokenhearted, giving them a future and a hope!

LIFE BEGINS WITH FAMILY

2012

Our hope is that you and others will join our LIFE family. Together, we can do so much more to end their hunger, their homelessness, the pain and addiction-driven lifestyle of the orphan in Eastern Europe. Statistics show that 10% will commit suicide within just a short few years of leaving the orphanage. And just recently, one more in our neighborhood in Latvia added to the truth of that statistic. Please, help us to help them. Consider giving monthly so that in 2012, many more lives can be saved and transformed.

Meet Mareks Logins

Sometimes we find someone who comes through the pain of orphanage life with an unnatural determination to live free of the suffering of the past, where hope lives for an unknown reason, except that God has revealed it. Mareks Logins is one such person. Mareks came to faith in Christ when he was 13. Immediately, he began reading his Bible. What he read, he did. He began to tithe from the small coins he carried in his pocket. He attended church regularly - 90 minutes away from his orphanage home. Routinely, Mareks was ridiculed and beaten in the orphanage because he went to church and gave his coins away. When Mareks was 15, he walked away from the orphanage. He says he just couldnt live as a Christian and in the orphanage at the same time. Mareks somehow found a way to survive. During this time, he continued in school and was given the opportunity to learn to play drums with the church worship team. Mareks tells how during the times when he was not playing the drums in church, he would sometimes sit in the congregation with tears streaming down his face. Mareks has not kept a list of what he missed in life or of how hard his life has been. Rather, he turned to enjoy the gift of his Savior and the gifting of music in his soul. Today, Mareks is 20 and ready to graduate 12th grade. He is also a professional drummer. He does something that is extremely rare for orphans to do... He dreams! It is almost unheard of that an orphan from Eastern Europe would learn to reach for and acquire a talent and skill that would take him to study on a university level! Actually, in over 13 years of my work with orphans in Latvia, Ive never seen this before. Mareks dreams of going to Berklee School of Music in Boston. In his research, he has connected to a school that will offer him the professional training that he so longs to have. It is our intense pleasure to support Mareks in this process of reaching and attaining his dreams. We have assisted Mareks with his application. LIFE is providing financially for these costs and for the costs of his European audition, which will be held in Germany in April. Please pray for Mareks for Gods provision and blessing upon this young man. He will need a fabulous audition. He will need to be accepted. He will need a full scholarship... all things which lay in the hands of Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Mareks Logins - we are honored to know you and to walk beside you as you work to reach your dreams.
