We are here at a caf regional and you are going to eat a delicious breakfast. On the menu, we have:

X-Caboquinho : bread, salt cheese, tucum and fried bananas sandwich. Tapioca: fried tapioca flour, with butter. (cheese or tucum are extra).
Regional fruit: papaya, watermelon, banana, pupunha And of course coffee and milk.

Form groups of 4 or 5. Imagine you are at a Caf Regional. Design your menu and present to the class. In which Caf Regional would the teacher like to have breakfast?

Laura: Hi, Carlos! How are you? Carlos: Im fine thanks, and you? Laura: Im great. How was your day yesterday? Carlos: Well, yesterday we went to the Amazon Opera House, the tourists just loved it. Laura: oh, thats great! Carlos: After that I took them to see the Meeting of the Waters, we had lunch there: a delicious Caldeirada de tambaqui, it was spectacular! Laura: What else did you do? Carlos: Then we visited the Water Lilly Lake and handcrafts fair. We took the boat back to Manaus at 4:00 p.m. and we arrived at the hotel around 5 oclock. Laura: Wow that was a really fun day! Carlos: Oh, yeah!

Visiting a new city 6A

Good morning! Today we are going to visit Presidente Figueredo. There are many attractions in Presidente Figueiredo, Forest, Rivers, waterfalls and caves. It is located 107 km from Manaus. The climate is hot and humid with temperature among 25 C e 35 C. There is a visit to Sanctuary waterfalls, the rafts of Urubu River, as well as a tour to the tracks of the Amazon Rainforest, some time for bathing in the waterfall and a visit to the Maruagas caves. Lunch is served at a restaurant in the city (the menu includes meat, fish, salad and other side dishes). There is a stop on the way back to the capital for those who are willing to taste some of the typical dishes, snacks and other products from the Amazon found at stalls along the road.

Form 4 groups. Each group will write cutural notes about the touristic attractions in one of the cities below. ( Manaus Rio Preto da Eva Manacapuru Parintins Novo Airo Iranduba) They will display it on a poster( illustrate). Vote for the best day trip to go to.

The Urubui rapids is in the middle of the city, Urubu is the best place to stay with your family with shallow waters and surrounded by bars and restaurants, the entrance is free. The Santuario Falls is considered a natural paradise because of the highest falls found in that place, the reserve also offers nice jungle path, you can visit the jungle and get closer to nature and you can spend the night in a small hotel located on the beginning of this beautiful reserve, to visit Sanctuary we pay a small fee per person and the place is open every day until 4:00 pm. The Maruaga`s Cave and Judeia Waterfalls, to visit this place we will need a help of the local tour guides, this place is mostly used by researchers because of the environmental importance, at Maruaga is possible to see a beautiful cave formed by sand stones and in this place we can see wildlife, insects and bats living inside of the cave, the area around is surrounded by water and typical stone formed millions of years ago.
