How to make a good presentation

Know your topic

Research first (prohibited to make presentation without research) Think through what you will present before beginning the project

Be comfortable with what you are going to talk about

Use key Phrases about you topic

Use key phrases (important information only) Choose only the main points

Use top three points (make it several times throughout the presentation in the classroom)

Avoid using too much text on the Flash card, cardboard, flipchart, slide, etc.
Dont write the whole speech on your Flash card, cardboard, flipchart, slide, etc.
Presentation is meant to accompany your oral presentation Write in the form of jot notes. Limit the number of bullets to 3 or 4 per slide

Do not use to many slides

One slide per minute is ok, in a short presentation

Lay out in your presentation is important

Make your presentation easy to follow
Put title on top Phrase should read left to right Keep important information near the top.

Avoid fancy fonts

Choose or write simple fonts (in computer use; Arial, Times New Roman or Verdana) Keep fonts large enough (18 pt. at least) Do not use more than two fonts in one presentation
