HOW TO CONCENTRATE ?
(i) Eliminate all physical & mental distractions. (ii) Set reasonable goal with reasonable time frame to be accomplished. (iii) While revising, they would do well to focus them. (iv) Use magic mantra to motivate themselves to study.
HOW TO CONCENTRATE ?
(v) Feeling lazy or sleepy one should try getting up, walking up and down, reading and studying loudly, at least until sleepiness or distraction has passed away. (vi) Change place of study.
LEARNING STYLES
3 main learning styles: (i) AUDITORY (learn by hearing & listening)
1. AUDITORY LEARNERS
CHARACTERISTICS : Enjoy listening to others/music. Enjoy talking to others. Cant do silent reading/whisper when asked to read silently. Cant remember faces but readily remember names, dates & telephone numbers. Listen to records, tapes, read novels or poetry. Avoid sports and outdoor activities. Sympathetic to other feelings and problems and a good listen. Do not like to work alone.
RECOMMENDATIONS
* Ask them to sit in a quiet place for studying. * Should listen attentively to the teacher in class . * They should request someone at home to read their context or notes while they shut their eyes & listen. * Should say their answers loudly, when studying.
CHARACTERISTICS Very good observant. Good in spellings. Neat in their handwriting, dress, appearance, habit. Like to use visual aids like diagram, sketches & pictures while studying. May forget names but never faces. Tend to doodle while study (absent minded). Enjoy movies and T.V. Do not reveal the feelings. Use highlighter when going over written material. Use flow chart to remember
2. VISUAL LEARNERS
RECOMMENDATIONS
* VISUAL learners are advised to write their answers. * To use visual aids while studying (maps, graphs, diagrams, flow charts , etc.). * Highlight the important / key points with markers.
3. KINESTHETIC LEARNERS
CHARACTERISTICS : Active Learner. Walk up & down while studying. Tend to study loudly & use their hands while studying. Prefer skills subjects than memory subjects. Enjoy games & sports. Enjoy making projects & doing experiments. Prefer loose & comfortable clothes to tighter ones. Face difficulty in recalling facts. Find it difficult to sit and concentrate.
RECOMMENDATIONS
They need to say their answers loudly and write them out.

Mnemonics is a powerful technique with which we can use association to remember some specific things. Mnemonics helps us to associate what one wants to remember with something that is easier to remember

MEMORY TRACE
An important cause for forgetting is that the memory traces of other experiences interfere with the memory trace of the experience we wish to remember . It is less active between different types of material than between similar types. It concerns what we do before an experience as well as what we do afterwards.
First page neat and tidy (free from cuttings and shabbiness). Demarcate the answers from another by giving space. Legible handwriting. Present all answers in points. Draw diagrams and labels with pencil. Fill up maps with pencil.
Write different parts in different paragraphs. Rough work to right hand side of paper. If asked to write 3 points definitely write 3 points. Underline the key points of VLA. Revision.
