BALEADA
The basic style is made of
aflour tortillawhich is
folded and filled with refried
beans, quesillo
orcheeseand sour cream.
Many people add
roastedmeat,
avocado,plantainsor
scrambled eggs as well.

I have tried and liked


the dish. Although I
have never added
plantains before.

TAMALES
The making of the tamale
starts off with the applying
of the masa. The masa is
usually corn based and is
steamed or boiled. The
tamale could be filled with
anything according to taste.
Ex. Cheeses, vegetables,
meats, fruits, or a
combination of any.

I have also tried this


dish and still eat it
very frequently
usually during family
gatherings such as
Christmas.

CARNE ASADA

Carne Asada is made from thin


marinatedbeefsteak,
usuallyskirt steak,flank
steakorflap steak. Carne
asada is often served with
freshguacamole, grilled onions,
black beans orfrijoles charros,
rice,tortillas and fresh salsa.
Carne asada can also be
topped withchismolorpico de
gallo.

This dish I have also


tried and is one of my
favorite dishes. We
have this at least one
time every week if not
more.

Sopa de
is
SOPA
DEcaracol(conchsoup)
CARACOL

one of the most representative


dishes of the Honduran cuisine.
This soup was made famous
throughout Latin America
because of a catchy song from
Banda Blanca called "Sopa de
Caracol." The conch is cooked in
coconut milk and the conch's
broth, with spices, yuca
(cassava), cilantro, and
greenbananasknown as guineo

I have not tried this


dish before. I am not
much of a soup
person, but would
give it a try

PESCADO
A famous YOJOA
dish
throughout the country,
which is found in
theYojoa Lake. The fish
is spiced and salted and
later deep fried. It is
served with pickled
onions, pickled red
cabbage, and deep
friedtajaditas(sliced

I have not tried this


dish, and would not
like to try it. I do not
like fish.
