CONCRETE
Pre
Tension
Post Tension
Why Prestressing ?
To eliminate the possibility of cracking inside the
reinforced concrete.
Reducing deflections.
Increasing the reinforced concretes shear strength
Tensional strength of concrete is quite weak, only
about 8 to 14 percent to its compressive strength.
Cracks tend to develop on early stages of loading in
flexural members. In order to prevent those cracks,
compressive force suits to be applied in a
perpendicular direction.
By installing prestressing, the flexural member
enjoys enhanced bending, shear and torsion
capabilities

Pre Tension
The method apply the technique that
involves the tendon being pre
tensioned between two anchorage
point, before pouring concrete into
the mould.
Tendon are release from the
abutment and the pre stress is
After stressing ,

Post Tension
The method apply post tensioned
technique after the concrete structural
member completed and mature to take
compression force.
A tendon will have anchors on each end to
transmit the forces into the structure.
Commonly used at construction site due to
huge size of the structural members that is
not possible to be transported to site.
