Surendra Adhikari went to local Saubhagya Secondary School at Chakratirtha in


Lamjung. He had passed SLC in 1998 and then came to the Capital of Nepal which
is Kathmandu, to pursue or follow ISc at Amrit Science Campus.

His occupation was really a researcher at NASA and he was
really who had mostly researched about things that related to
ice, sea level, solid earth, and space geodesy and has published
many papers.
Discovery/Invention
Surendra Adhikari has discovered that our planets recent polar wanderlust has two
causes: the melting of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets, and changes in
the global distribution of water stored on land. Both of these are related to a single
underlying phenomenon(to exist or happen). It is important to science because it is
related to earth and its discoveries are based on science.
How and Why did you pick this person?
How- how I found out about this person was googling it and I found in a section that
says Nepal Scientists, As I scrolled down, I found that person who had the more
information. I picked this person because as I read about him and what he did, made
me want to know more about him and I was interested in his discoveries and that
one quote which was In those days in Nepal, I dont think anyone wanted to be an
earth scientist per se. Engineer thats what I wanted to be, , This made me feel
that one day, I will also be an Nepalian Engineer.
