COMPETENCY 7.1
Collect and organize data, and apply critical thinking to interpret
information from clients and constituencies.
While sitting in on assessments , intakes , and groups I can pick up
and learn different behaviors that clients with addiction and/or
mental have.
COMPETENCY 7.2
Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment,
person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical
frameworks in interventions with clients and constituencies.
Attend NCI training in order to deflect a negative situation with a
client who more elevated than normal. And if a client requests to be
a group that focusses on skill building that applies to their
situation , like a womens group or an SAIOP introduction group, I
can inform someone, or encourage the client to share this with
someone who does assessment that they are interested in a certain
type of group.
COMPETENCY 7.3
Develop mutually agreed-on intervention goals and objectives
based on the critical assessment of strengths, needs, and
challenges within clients and constituencies.
Learn more about treatment plans , which include group sessions,
for clients.
COMPETENCY 7.4
Select appropriate intervention strategies based on the
assessment, research knowledge, and values and preferences of
clients and constituencies.
Shadow a counselor and expand knowledge on interventions.
