Problem:

1.Calculate the force, F1, exerted by the operator to


raise a load, F2, of 10000N if the piston diameter of the
hand pump is 6 mm and the diameter of the load
cylinder is 25 mm.

2.Calculate the number of pump cycles required to


raise the load 250 mm if the pump stroke is 50 mm.

3.If the operator pumps at a rate of 1 cycle per second,


determine the power expended by the operator.
