What is
Solidarity?
It refers to the
ties in a society
that bind people
together as one.
THE PRINCIPLE
OF SOLIDARITY
This is also known as Principle
of Appropriate Centralization
Solidarity, which flows from
faith, is fundamental to the
Christian view of social and
political organization. Each
person is connected to and
dependent on all humanity,
collectively and individually.
Solidarity is a firm and
persevering determination to
commit oneself to the common
good, not merely ague
compassion or shallow distress
at the misfortunes of others.
Pope John Paul II

Solidarity
and
Religion
Solidarity is an important
concept for Christians.
Solidarity is not just about
unity of message or vision, it
is about valuing our fellow
human beings and respecting
who they are as unique
individuals.
Solidarity implies above all
else, a relationship.
In spreading the spiritual
goods of the faith, the Church
has promoted, and often
opened new paths for, the
development of temporal
goods as well.
The virtue of solidarity goes
beyond material goods.
Solidarity is an eminently
Christian virtue. It practices
the sharing of spiritual goods
even more than material ones.
And so throughout the centuries has the
Lord's saying been verified:

"Seek first his kingdom and his

righteousness, and all these things shall be
yours as well"

CCGP: THIS IS
WHAT SOLIDARITY
LOOKS LIKE
WHAT SOLIDARITY DO IN
OUR SOCIETY?
Inequality in resource distribution
Stupid acts. Due to lack of solidarity, rich
people would tend to throw instead of
sharing the excess that they have.
Bulag-bulagan. Lack of concern for
others results to higher rate of homeless
individuals. Homeless physically and also
mentally.
