The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) survey of education and training
survey revealed that 80% of wage and salary earners undertook some form of
training. In addition, 33% of the respondents who undertook training,
undertook structured, and by far the most commonly reported form of training
(72%) was unstructured, on-the-job training. Hence, a significant amount of
training is undertaken each year in Australian firms.
