LENTIC

(Zooplankters)
Introduction
Zooplankton are key components of marine ecosystems
forming the base of most marine food webs.

Among the most abundant species that have been found in

lakes from recent studies are copepods and rotifers.
Materials and Methods
Grab/Pail sampling method

Water samples were obtained at an arms length and in a 30

cm depth

For the microscopy, samples have been settled for 24

hours and decanted until 10ml aliquot was obtained.
Site 1
Trial 1(3 rhizopoda) Trial 2 (1 rotifer, 1 rhizopoda

In Trial 3, 2 rotifers were also found

Site 2
Trial 1 ( 2 rhizopoda) Trial 2 (4 rotifers, 1 copepod)

In Trial 3, there were no plankters found.

Site 3
In all of the trials, copepods were seen.
Site 4
Trial 1(1 copepod, 1 rhizopoda)
Site 4
Trial 2 (4 rotifers, 4 rhizopoda) Trial 3 (1 copepod, 2 rotifers)
