Overview of TL Load

The intent of today’s session is to discuss the


integration of Time and Labor with North
American Payroll.

The Load Time and Labor Process is also


referred to as “TL Load.”

Overview of TL Load

• Time is loaded based on Payable Status.


• Employee is setup for Payroll processing.
• TRC mapped to an earnings code.

Overview of TL Load – What happens?

• Populates Payable Status to SP


…..then updates to TP, RP or CL
• TL Pay System flag is set to NA
• Payroll Request number is set
• Frozen Flag is set to Yes
• Frozen Date set to Pay End Date
• Set Payroll cross reference number (XREF)
• Creates or Updates Paysheets

Common Problems with the TL Load Process

• Error Message
• Unique Constraint
• Duplicate Time
• Amounts are not as expected
• Hours are rejected (Payable Status = RP)
• Performance

Identifying the Problem

• What happened? Did the process abend or


finish successfully? Were Exceptions
created? Was the Payable Status set to RP?
• Did the time load successfully to paysheets?
Was it duplicated? Or, is time missing?
• Did the problem data exist prior to the TL
Load process was run, or is it a result of
running the TL Load process?
• Review the TL Load functions, were all
performed?

Areas to Consider

• Were Exceptions created?


• Was the run control setup properly?
• How was the PAYABLE_STATUS set on
TL_PAYABLE_TIME?
• Was the TL_XREF_TBL populated?
• Was there a change to JOB data? Or, a mid
period change?

• Cleanup for Restart
• Refresh on Job Change
• Off-cycle Load processes adjustments

• Number of employees processed


• Type of Employees
(Salary, Hourly or Exception Hourly)
• Type of Time Reporters (Elapsed or Punch)
• Type of Workgroup (Exception or Positive)
• TL Period Begin and End Dates
• Pay Calendar Begin and End Dates

• Last TL Bundle applied
• Last Tax Update applied
• Happened before or resulting from a change?
• Prepare COBOL trace and log file
