Introduction Of PML N
Establishment of PML N:
- M. Nawaz Sharif became firstly, the PM of Pakistan in Nov,
1990.
- This party was established in 1993.
- Founder : Fida Mohammad Khan
• President: M. Nawaz Sharif
• Leader in Assembly: M. Nawaz Sharif
Objectives Of PML N:
• In his first address to the nation after taking office as prime minister,
Nawaz Sharif announced:
• Comprehensive government’s national reconstruction plan.
• Proper use of country’s natural resources.
• Best use of talented man power made.
• Development Policy: Investment would be encouraged & restrictions
on setting up new industries would be lifted.
Mr. Sharif’s First era as PM (1990 to 1993)
Mega Projects:
• Sharif announced his economic policy under the program called, the
"National Economic Reconstruction Program " (NERP). This program
introduced an extreme level of the Western-styled capitalist
economic system.
• In 1990, Sharif announced the nuclear policy and aimed to continue
the peaceful atomic program benefit for country's economic
infrastructure.

• INFRA-STRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Other Projects :
• A number of important industries, such as:
• Pakistan National Shipping Corporation,
• National Electric Power Regulatory Authority,
• Pakistan International Airlines, Pakistan Telecommunication
Corporation, and Pakistan State Oil were opened up to the private
sector.
• In 1990, Prime minister Sharif successfully privatized the National
Development Finance Corporation.
Mr. Sharif’s 2nd era as PM (1997 to 1999)
Mega Projects:
• He took initiatives against terrorism when on 17 August 1997.
• He passed the controversial Anti-Terrorist Act which established Anti-
Terrorism Courts.
• The Supreme Court later rendered the Act unconstitutional.
However, Sharif made few amendments, and received the permission
of the Supreme Court to establish these courts.
• Motorway establishment.
• Nuclear experiment on Chaghi.

Mega Projects:

• The establishment of New Gawader International Airport.

• The construction of Motorway from Karachi to Peshawar.
• The construction of Motorway from Khaniwaal to Multan.
• Youth business loan program.
• The establishment of University in Chitral & Lakki Marwat.
• The establishment of Asia’s biggest Solar park.
Comparison of Sharif’s Past Project’s With
Current Project’s:

• In comparison to the past, the new or the under progress

projects are seem to be good as the new projects are
contributing more to the development of Pakistan. Thus,
making more job opportunities to the people.
• Industrial development
• Foreign policies were weak which are now getting better.
