Overview
In this millennia, electricity has become the top most
priority. A shortage of it slows people down, delaying daily routine
which eventually results to unproductivity. Due to its present
demand, feasible ways of producing electric energy is needed.
To contribute in the demand, this study focuses on energy
conversion using things present in daily lives-noise. Random noise
can be treated as a source of electrical energy. Electricity can be
generated directly from sound energy through the use of
transducer. The transducer has piezoelectric materials (crystal)
which converts mechanical strain (produced by sound energy) to
electric energy by piezoelectric effect. The mechanical energy of
sound is applied directly to a crystal with strong piezoelectric
characteristics, which then generates a small amount of voltage
in response to the application of that mechanical energy (sound).
The resultant electrical energy is stored in a battery so that it can
be used for further applications.
Statement of the Problem
This research aim to design and construct a noise-
powered streetlight . The study will fulfill the following
statements at the end of the study.
1. What components are needed to fabricate a noise-
powered streetlight?
2.What are the advantages of this prototype
compared to other feasible method?
3. What is the efficiency and functionality of the
prototype?
4. How durable and reliable is this prototype?
Objectives
Generally, the objective of this study is to utilize noise
pollution in generating electricity.
Specifically, it aims :
• To make use of the sound present in a certain location
• To design and develop a prototype
• To determine the effectiveness of the prototype
