Acropolis Of Athena
Acropolis : Is the highest part in the city .

 Propylaea: Entrance to the acropolis.

 Parthenon: Temple of Athena.

 Erechtheion: Temple of Poseidon.

 Temple of Nike.
Parthenon :-
 Temple of Athena, dedicated to the
God of Athena. Constructed when
Greek win war on Persian.
 Doric and Ionic Temple .
 Is an example of traditional Greek
Temple .
 Octastyle Temple, with 8 columns and
17 columns on it’s side.
 The proportions were applied in a
very good way, such as:
1- Convex stylobate
 2- Solid and Void .
Columns are uneven in size, the columns on the sides are larger .

 3- Entasis Column:
Columns that are straight appear
thinner in the middle due to the
effect of light.

Entasis: is a slight convex curvature


introduced into the shaft of a
column for aesthetic reasons or to
compensate for the illusion of
concavity
Plan:
The Parthenon had two rooms: Treasure room and the Naos that contain
the Statue of Athena
