The funky genre mainly appeals to the 16-25 age group so the
typography needs to be eye-catching and attractive. The text
needs to stand out and represent the artist and the brand; here
are a few examples of typography we may use…
 Locations
During our production we plan to
film at various locations around
London, in studio settings and
scenes in a house. These pictures
show the particular places in and
around London we are planning to
film at.

We decided to also film in a house to

show how the narrative develops.
Our locations will appeal to our
target audience as they are situated
in London. We got inspiration for
locations from looking at different
music videos targeted at a London
and our funky house genre. These
locations are lively therefore attract
young people to these kind of
places.
 The Artist
The main artist in the video will be a female character.
This is suitable to the theme of love and relationships as
women as usual associated with anything to do with
emotions.

As you see the artist in the picture is dressed up and

looks wealthy, we denote she is going out to have fun
with her girls. She is also smiling which represents she is
happy and life is good.

We choose this female to play Kyla in the video because

they are in the same age range and are representative of
young females which we would like to portray in our
video. From the way she is dressed we can see that they
are ready to go out and have some fun reflecting the
songs beat and lyrics.

We also choice this female(Sasha) as it would save time

for us having to find someone to be the main actor in our
video. Having Sasha play the artist will save us time and
any inconvenience in finding someone who would be fully
committed to being in it when we need them.
 We choose Funky house artist Kyla. We both loved
the song and felt this would be a good choice for our
music video. It can be easily adapted into either
conceptual or narrative, has a good beat and lyrics
that can be taken and used on the basic of the kind
of structure we set for the video.

The song appealed to us as it is aimed at our age

range 16-25 and would also appeal to people our
age as well and would be a song which would be
played at places such as parties and clubs. we looked
at other artists before we went with our final artist
Kyla. We looked at unsigned artists and found a few
on there we liked however we were able to get into
contact with crazy cousins and found 3 songs that
we really liked and were able to pick as our song.
They were Meleka go, I see you- Kimora and Kyla do
you mind. We picked Kyla do you mind as it had
more to work with e.g. lyrics, song beat and ability
to establish a narrative.

Overall we feel we may the best choice out of all the

artists we looked through on unsigned artists and
from the crazy cousinz label.
We will use this song to porduce a video linking in
well with kyla however changing the themes and
narrative and adidng elements that the audicne
wouldn’t expect forma typcial funkyhouse video.

Cover

The Nicki Minaj DVD cover represents her ‘Barbie

girl’ brand well, it is colourful, attractive and
signifies her exciting persona. The font is bold and
easy to read which is a conventions within the hip
hop/R&B genre, the artists picture is large and
centred in the middle of the cover. This suggests the
DVD mainly consists of her, this is also supported by
her name beside the picture in large Capital letters.

These links are music videos of the funky house genre, each video consists of
a group of people either partying our having fun and enjoying
themseves.This is a convention within the funky house genre, the music is
upbeat and generally gives out a happy vibe. Fast pace editing and cuts on
the beat are consistent which also compliments the music. The videos are
colourful and bright to depict the lively atmosphere and lyrics.
