 My name is Samantha McCallion.

I am 21-years-old and go to The College of New

Jersey.

I am studying to become an elementary

school teacher, like Ms. Estrada!

My favorite subject to teach is science.

 Mi nombre es Samantha McCallion.

Tengo 21 años y voy al Colegio de Nueva

Jersey.

¡Estoy estudiando para

Mi materia favorita para enseñar

es ciencia.
 I live with my mom and dad in New Jersey.

I have no siblings, but I love to hang out with my friends.

When we’re together, we like to watch TV and go outside to relax.
 Vivo con mi mamá y mi papá en Nueva Jersey.

No tengo hermanos, pero me encanta pasar el rato con mis amigos.

Cuando estamos juntos, nos gusta ver televisión y salir a relajarnos.
¡Algo que quizás no sepas de mí es que yo
viví en Japón y hablo japonés!

El japonés es muy diferente del inglés y el

español. Cuando digo hola en japonés, digo
"こ に ち は!”
Mis estudiantes en Japón se parecen
mucho a ti: les gusta jugar kickball, ver
televisión y les encantaba hablar.
Something you might not know
about me is that I lived in Japan and
speak Japanese!

Japanese is very different from English

and Spanish. Instead of letters, they
use characters. When I say hello in
Japanese, I say “こにちは！”

My students in Japan are a lot like

you- they like to play kickball, watch
TV, and they loved to talk.
I like to garden.

During the winter, I grow herbs on

my windowsill. I water them
everyday and put them in the
sunlight so they can grow quickly
and healthy.
After the cold weather has ended, I plant them
outside.

After they finish growing, I can use them to cook. I

am not good at cooking, but I still put my herbs to
good use.
I want to plant vegetable this spring, so
that I can learn to cook with them.
Me gusta el jardín. Durante el
invierno, cultivo hierbas en el
alféizar de la ventana.

Los riego todos los días y los pongo a

la luz del sol para que puedan
crecer de forma rápida y saludable.
Después de que el clima frío haya terminado, los planté
afuera.

Después de que terminan de crecer, puedo usarlos para

cocinar. No soy bueno para cocinar, pero aun así uso mis
hierbas.
Quiero plantar vegetales esta
primavera, para que pueda
aprender a cocinar con ellos.
When I have a free time, which is rare, I like to
paint people and places.

I want to practice my painting skills and get

better each time.

Cuando tengo un tiempo libre, lo cual es raro,
me gusta pintar personas y lugares.
