The following are a few things you can do


at work to prevent fires:

 Do not run extension cords across


doorways, under rugs or carpets, or
anywhere they could be stepped on or
damaged.
 Do not overload electrical outlets.
 Do not use tools with frayed or
damaged electrical cords or plugs.

 Turn off electrical appliances such as


coffee makers, hot plates, cup warmers,
etc. when they are not being used.
Unplug at the end of the day.
 Store flammable materials in approved
safety containers or storage cabinets.

stairways clear of waste paper, empty
boxes, dirty rags, and other fire
hazards/obstructions.
 If a fire occurs, do not panic.

The Fire Triangle
In order to understand how fire extinguishers work,
you first need to know a little bit about fire.

Essentially, fire extinguishers put out fire by taking


away one or more elements of the fire triangle.

CLASS C - Electrical,
