FIRST PROPOSAL

RICE TRANSPLANTING
MACHINE
HUMAN ENERGY REQUIREMENT FOR CROPS

• Among all the processess involved in

rice production, transplanting of rice
requires the maximum amount of
human energy

• Also, Transplanting of rice is highly

labour intensive and it may require 250-
350 man-hours per hectares

• With manual transplantation the cost

of production of rice also increases
PROBLEM STATEMENT

• Thus we need to design a machine that

can overcome the given problem

• With the help of this machine, the

transplantation cost as well as time
consumption will decrease with
increase in efficiency
RICE TRANSPLANTING MACHINE

DESIGN ASPECT

Following aspects are to be considered for design

• Plant catching mechanism

• Speed of travelling
• Depth of planting
MECHANISM

• A four bar linkage (crank and rocker

mechanism) is used to plant the rice

• Suitable speed, position and angle of

catching and angle of planting, width
and length of components are the factors
governing the proper planting mechanism
POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

• All the power generation is achieved

by the rotation of the wheel

• Chain and sprocket mechanism is

used to transmit power to the
planting unit
SECOND PROPOSAL

PAPER BAG MACHINE

PROBLEM STATEMENT
• Plastic bags pollute our land and water

• They are made from non-renewable resources

and are also harmful to wildlife, marine life and
human health

• Many cities and countries from around the world

have already put bans on plastic bag consumption

• Thus a need arises to replace plastic with something

renewable and less harmful and paper bag
is one of the alternative that serves the purpose
MECHANISM

Motion to the paper is provided by conveyor belt system and key processes
involved are rolling, folding and stamping press
