 BACKGROUND
• Based on Law No. 18/2008 concerning Waste Management, the responsibility of
Waste Management in Indonesia is carried out by the local government (City or
District),
• Some problems with Waste Management in the City and District are:
o Limited budget for Waste Management,
o Improper use of technology,
o Lack of community participation,
o Limited availability of land, especially for the metropolitan area,
• Possible collaboration between local government, provincial government and the
private sector in waste management.

PURPOSE
• Increasing budget availability with the cooperation between local governments, provincial
governments, and the central government.
• Improving Waste Management technology (thermal and/or non-thermal)
• Increasing cooperation between the government and the private sector
• implementing the concept of "3R" (Reuse, Recycle, Reduce).
