Name of the Virus: Cholera

Cholera has its origin in the swampy and densely


Origin: populated deltas of the Indian Ganges and Brahmaputra
rivers, then extends to Asia and Africa.

What does it attack?


Attacks the digestive system, specifically the large intestine.

How do people get infected?


A person can get the infection by eating water or food
contaminated by the bacteria.
Bacteria present in the feces of an infected person are the main
source of contamination.
 what symptoms it causes ?

• Symptoms: • Diarrhea
• Vomits

What happens inside the body?

• The first symptoms appear 2 to 5 days after the


infection, with vomiting, liquid stools with
intestinal pain.
• The danger of dehydration worsens because the
body can lose 15 to 24 liters for each passing day.
 How to treat cholera?

• The treatment consists of fluids


and antibiotics
• The treatment includes
rehydration, intravenous therapy
and antibiotics.
 How to prevent cholera?

• You can prevent cholera


• Take boiled or purified water.
• Wash and disinfect fruits and vegetables.
• Cook or fry food well.
• Wash your hands before eating and after
going to the bathroom.
• Eat only in clean places.
• If you are a member of your family
present any symptoms immediately
consulted to the doctor.
• Patients should drink plenty of fluids and
not stop consuming food.
• Take care of the hygiene of the food you
eat.
