1. RECOUNT TEXT

a. Definision
Recount text is one type of text in language-
learning United Kingdom that has the function to
retell the events or experiences that occurred in the
past.The text of this apparent aim to provide
information and or entertain readers who read this
paper.
b. Various Text Recount
Recount text has several types of text that can be
used to Your writing.Adapted to the purpose of the writing
itself. Various kinds of recount text can be seen below:
• Personal recount
Personal recount is a recount text function tells the story of
the author's personal experience.
• Factual recount
Recount is Factual text that serves to present a report on
events that really happened, such as a science experiment
report or reports of the police force.
• Imaginative
Imaginative is the kind of recount text function serves an
imaginative child story.Then write down the event or events
that have occurred.
c. The STRUCTURE of a RECOUNT TEXT
in making recount text, there is a structure that must
be followed when writing the type of text.The structure of a
recount text is divided into three sections:
Orientation
In this first phase, authors are requested to provide
information in the form of an introduction as to who, where,
when the event or events that happened in the past.In this
section, the author is expected to give the reader the
information needed to understand the whole of the text.
Example: Yesterday I stayed the night at my friend's
house, Delia, with my other three friends, Amanda, Tiara and
Clarisse.Delia's house is so pretty. It has a big garden with a
lot of kind of flowers and a big swimming pool.Right from the
balcony, we can see the scenery of the whole of Bandung city
recount.
d. RECOUNT STRUCTURE English text TEXT
• Events
In this second stage, the author can convey or deals with
the event or events that occurred.The author was asked to write
the story in chronological order. Like ' In the first day .... In the
next day. ...In the last day ... '
Example : When we first arrived at 8 AM, Delia has
welcomed us and asked us to get around the house as she
explains all the room inside her home along with its function.
After walking around the house, we gathered at Delia's room to
put our things. Then, we go to the garden and have some tea
while chatting with each other. At 12 PM, Delia asked us to eat
the lunch prepared by the chef. The food was delicious. It was a
traditional food from Korea. After lunch, we decided to go
swimming. We had a good time. Around 5 PM, we cleaned
ourselves and prepared for a BBQ session for the night. We ate a
lot of meat and saw the city lights of Bandung City. Right by 11
PM, we got back to the house and sat in a circle in Delia's room
to talk and have some discussion.
e. Characteristics of a RECOUNT TEXT
• Reorientation of this last Stage is the stage
of a repetition of the introduction that there is in
the first stage.The repetition of existing
encapsulates all the events or events described.In
the last stage, the author can write a summary of
all events or incidents reported.The author can also
write comments or personal impression against the
event or events that have occurred. Example : We
finally go to sleep around 2 AM, it was late, but we
had so much fun. I would love to go back to Delia's
house.
