Lets learn conditional
sentences.
 What is a conditional sentence?

A conditional sentence is a sentence

structure used to talk about something
(a result )that may happen only if something
else happens first(a condition).
If it rains heavily ,there will be
flood.
If you drive fast, an accident
may occur
If people throw garbage into the
river ,its water will be polluted.
If he wins the race, he
will get a prize.
Today you will learn “If” type one (possible situations)
Now you see how people in the past used barter
system(exchanging services and goods)

If I give you some grains , will you give me some apples?
Sure If you give me a handful of grains , I will give you
four apples.
 There are two clauses in these sentences.
 If clause + Result clause (Main clause)
(If you give me some grains) (I will give you four apples)
 Learn how the verbs are formed

If clause + Result clause

 Verb(simple present ) + ( will + give )

 (Time - Future ) + will + infinitive
 Study the two exchanges
In the if clause, there is a possible condition .The result will occur
only if this condition is fulfilled.
If clause Main clause(result)
1. If you give me some flour , I will give this bag of rice.
2. If you drop the glass , it will break .
3. If it rains heavily tomorrow , I will not go to the town.
4. If Rani’s pet dies , she will be sad.
5. If you save money , you will be rich.

6. If you drink dirty water , you may be ill.
(If you express possibility about the result you can use may+ v)
