CAN THE BARANGAY DECLARE A STATE OF
CALAMITY IN THEIR RESPECTIVE AOR?
Yes, LGU’s can declare their areas under state of
calamity as the need arises. Since a barangay is
the smallest unit of our political system, it is
within the scope of the provision.
