Reproductive System (Genital System) is a
system of organs within an organism which
work together for the purpose of reproduction,
which is the capacity of human beings to
originate new individuals.
Reproductive System
Human reproduction
Human reproduction takes place as internal
fertilization by sexual intercourse. During this
process, the erect penis of the male is inserted
into the females vagina until the male ejaculates
semen, which contains sperm, into the females
vagina. The sperm then travels through the
vagina and cervix into the uterus or fallopian
tubes for fertilization of the ovum. Upon
successful fertilization and implantation,
gestation of the fetus then occurs within the
females uterus for approximately nine months,
this process is known as pregnancy in humans.
Male Reproduction system
The Male Reproductive System
The male reproductive system consists of a number of sex organs that play a role in the
process of human reproduction. These organs are located on the outside of the body and
within the pelvis.
The main male sex organs are the penis and the testicles which produce semen and sperm,
which, as part of sexual intercourse.
Sperm is the male reproductive cell
Sperm
sperm cell can be divided in 2 parts:

head: contains the nucleus. It contains enzymes used for penetrating the female egg. It
also contains vacuoles.
tail: also called the flagellum, is the longest part and capable of wave-like motion that
propels sperm for swimming and aids in the penetration of the egg.
