INTRODUCTION
• First Islamic commercial bank to receive the
Islamic banking license under the Islamic banking
policy of 2003 from State Bank of Pakistan on
March 31, 2005.
• Bank started its operations from 7 April 2006 and
offers shariah compliant retail banking,
investment banking, consumer banking and trade
finance products.
• Bank intends to focus on wealth management as
the core area of business .
• Its network consists of 213 branches and sub
branches spread over 80 cities of Pakistan.
• With the amalgamation of KASB on May 7,
2015, all 104 branches of KASB have become
part of Bank Islami’s branch network.
• Bank Islami is the 11th largest banking
network in the country with 317 branches in
93 cities nationwide.
• The idea of Bank Islami was conceptualized by Jahangir
Siddiqui & Company Limited and Randeree family in
late 2003.
• Mr. Hasan A. Bilgrami was appointed as adviser to the
sponsors on 16 March 2004 to formalize the idea.
• Mr. Hasan A. Bilgrami presented the concept of
BankIslami to sponsors on 24 March 2004.
• On 26 September 2005, Dubai Bank joined the
sponsors and became one of the founding
shareholders of BankIslami by investing 18.75% in the
total capital.

ERP, a lot of softwares are used for all different purposes.
• Online banking is handle with some other software, internal branch
matters with other, and customer data is maintain by other
softwares and Employees database is different.
• A lot of auditing tools are used by bank islami as the main audit is
through codes, they have codes for every work, e.g balance sheets,
income heads etc.
• CSR is basically checked by officials, bank manager, those
codes who are very important for bank and changes can
face problems in those codes, only those are audited
frequently.
• The performance evaluation of bank islami depends on
employees sales, service quality provided to costumers and
they are assessed by their current supervisor on daily basis.
As team work is the core of bank islami and through team
work they achieved their targets.
• Bank islami has 330 branches all over Pakistan. Their online
services is fastest in Pakistan and account maintenance
charges are very low, discounts on check book and ATM
cards
• Bank islami has R&D department associated to
add new products, their most innovative product
and service is cardless ATM and counter
transaction which is adding values to their core
products, financing and money related
operations.

competitors did not targeted and are not
presents, bank islami has branches in Naran
where there is no other bank is located.

their operations with all members daily session
on maintaining and running operations,

knowledge management techniques effectively.

earn is that they are going to charge a fee against ATM
card and cheque book, other cost structure of bank
islami depends on different rate offer to clients.

• Bank islami only focuses on quality and fast service to
their customers or consumers, their goal is always to
grow. They do not have any set target that after this
they are stable they have to grow as in banking sector
there is no stability.
