 Health managers,  have varying roles and functions depending on the size of the facility 
they oversee.
Major roles are to:
1. plan coordinate
2.  supervise the functions of health care facilities and the staff that work there.

6. Every hospital has its own set of policies that govern employees,
procedures and services offered to patients.

7. A hospital manager may be required to develop policies and


procedures and ensure that they are followed, or he may
implement policies created by a governing board or body.

8. Short-range and long-range plans for a hospital's development


and overall growth are also usually handled, or at least
supervised, by a hospital administrator.
Role

2. The administrator must make sure that medical
histories, current health information, and billing,
insurance and legal documents are all being handled
appropriately
3. Keeping all of this information organized and up to date
is an essential role that a hospital administrator must
fill.
Hospital Manager

1. Hospital mangers are responsible for organizing and


overseeing the health services and daily activities of
a hospital or healthcare facility.
2. They manage staff and budgets, communicate between
departments and ensure adequate patient care amongst
other duties.
Hospital Manager

 The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the highest-level


management position in a hospital or hospital system.
 Hospital CEO’s must possess the qualifications and skills
to manage and direct the complexities of a modern
patient care facility.
 CEO positions require long hours, as well as involvement
in the community, philanthropy, fundraising, and other
organizations related to their work.

keeping current on laws and regulations is one of the
healthcare administrator’s most important
responsibilities.

healthcare administrator clearly communicates the
practice’s vision and mission,
 attends local fund raisers, and travels to professional
conventions
