Film and Video Editing

Color Correction/Color Grading

• The terms 'color correction' and 'color grading' are
often used interchangeably, but refer to different
processes of editing color in video. Color correction
is usually done first. This is because raw footage
tends to be over-saturated and the colors need to
be balanced out.
Cuts
• In the post-production process of film editing and
video editing, a cut is an abrupt, but usually trivial
film transition from one sequence to another.
Transitions
• Video transitions are a post-production technique
used in film or video editing to connect one shot to
another. Often when a filmmaker wants to join two
shots together, they use a basic cut where the first
image is instantly replaced by the next.
Musics
• Music can add energy and feeling to your video
projects.
• For film and video editors, using music in your
videos is a great way to liven up scenes and present
more enjoyable information.
Stabilize
• To stabilize motion using the Warp Stabilizer effect, do
the following:

• Select the clip you want to stabilize.

• In the Effects panel, choose Distort > Warp Stabilizer,
and then apply the effect by double-clicking, or by
dragging the effect to the clip in the Timeline or the
Effect Controls panel.
Speed Ramping
• speed ramping or time remapping is the art of
slowing down and speeding up your footage in
order to produce dramatic and creative effects.
