WHAT IS FIBRE??
FIBre is a natural or synthetic substance
that is significantly longer than it is wide. Fibre
are often used in the manufacture of other
materials.
Synthetic fibre can often be produced very
cheaply and in large amount compared to
natural fibres can give some benefits, such as
comfort, over their synthetic counterparts.
INTRODUCTION OF PINA FIBRE
Pina is a fibre made from the leaves of a
PINEAPPLE Plant and is commonly used is
the Philippines.
Pina name comes from the Spanish word
Pina which means pineapple ,although it has
been in usage prior to the Spanish era in the
Philippines.

main and the oldest
manufacturer/weaver
of Pina cloth in the
Philippines which are
being exported to
various of the world
most particularly
North America and
Europe
CULTIVATION METHOD OF PINA FIBER

Since Pina is from a

leaf, the leaf has to
be cut first from the
plant.
Then the fibre is
pulled or split away
from the leaf.
Mostly leaf fibre are
long and somewhat
stiff. Each strand of the
Pina fibre is hand
scraped and is knotted
ane by one to form a
continuous filament to
be hand woven.
Pina is intensive, as
each step is done
mostly by hand.
ADVANTAGE OF PINA FIBRE & CLOTH

The Fabric has a Natural Gloss similar to silk, and is better

in Quality. This gloss protect the fibre and as a result, Pina
does not require any to treatment with toxic chemicals.
It is easy to wash and care for; no dry cleaning required.
Pina cloth is wear-resistant.
It is an ideal eco-textile for clothing.
Pina fibre long, fine, lustrous.
VARIOUS USES OF PINA FIBER

Pina fabric is
converted into
valuable item such as
Baron Tagalog,
Kimona, Panuelo,
Vestmants, table
linen, pillow case,
gown,fans and other
item.
