Abstract
Introduction
This Study aims to established pedestrian safety
crossing focused on environment around JRMSU
school. Pedestrian Lane a crossing or cross walk
is a place designated for pedestrian to cross,
motorist must stop to let them cross.
Vehicles must stop the right of way to
pedestrian and plainly marked crosswalks and at
intersections where stop signs or flashing road
signals are in place.
 Methods
As I go on my research I interview one Police Traffic
Enforcer here in Dapitan City.
“We cannot force those Drivers of vehicles to stop
nor limit their speed upon crossing near Pedestrian
Lane since in reality it a road . Its a duty to be
watchful ”

Further discussion the enforcer says” There is no
such City ordinance particularly here in Dapitan that
focusing about the rules on pedestrian lane.
A Review of Literature
“All pedestrian are vulnerable but some are
more .”Because of the reasons counted above
pedestrian can be referred as vulnerable road
users. But it should be remembered that some
road users are ,ore vulnerable than others. They
are young, old, handicapped pedestrian.

The fast increase in the number of cars have
brought along many related problems which are
well worth our greatest attention .The country
government should build more infrastructure or
ameliorate traffic system for all pedestrian ,the road
must be widened to take more lanes.
For the safety of all let us comply with traffic
regulations and strengthen the awareness of safety.
DISCUSSION
As stated in the law , Presidential Decree
1958(1984) and amended of the Land
Transportation and Traffic Code 1964.Obliges
motorist to give way to pedestrian in pedestrian
lane or “Zebra Lane”.
In San Juan , they have a City Ordinance In 2013
“Pedestrian Safety Ordinance in San Juan City”

If possible in Dapitan we could also have our City
Ordinance.
