LAN Covers a small region of space typically a

single building School or at Home.
LAN can pass data to one and all as well as can
share resources.
e.g: Two or more computers connected in a
building or internet café.

 Types of LAN
1. Broad Band LAN:
This type of LAN uses analog technology . It
uses a high frequency modem (greater then 4
KHZ)to introduce carriers signals onto the
transmission media. It is basically used for
internet.
• Base Band LAN: The base band LAN uses
digital Technology. The base band system are
bi- directional and use one cable. The system
can use coaxial cable or twisted pair.
