Introduction
• Patni studied at NMIMS, where she earned her B-Tech and MBA

• Patni started her career interning for Wipro Technologies (2007).


Following that she was trained under Sun Microsystems in 2008.
She worked for Pitney Bowes for three years, 2009–12

• She then went on to co-found her company CultureAlley, which


developed Hello English, an interactive, mobile-based application.
Hello English
• Hello English is a mobile-based application that allows speakers of
16 different vernacular languages to learn English right on their
phones.

• The app was developed out of Jaipur, went on to become the


number one English learning and speaking app on the Google
Play store in India, within eight months of its launch.

• Apart from India, Hello English is the number one education app in
Nepal, Bangladesh, and many countries in the Middle East.
History
• Pranshu Patni’s husband Nishant Patni had a moment once when he
had to relocate to Shanghai, China for some business purpose.

• He was not ready to communicate his dietary must to the locals.

• In a hurry, he tried learning Mandarin through online courses,


tutorial books and additionally attended learning categories,
however because of his intense schedule had to administer up
throughout that point.

• Pranshu realized that the matter was that there are fewer units which
effectively teach and enhance our communication skills.
History
• Pranshu left her job as Associate in Nursing analyst at Pitney Bowes
in Gurgaon, to begin engaging on Culture Alley.

• Initially, she started off with an internet site that would teach
languages together with English, Hindi, Mandarin, and Spanish,
through multiple coaching models.

• They additionally started with live one-on-one sessions with tutors


via Skype.

• This was the possibility for Pranshu to reinvent the model and
attract a lot of people, therefore she pivoted the model from an
internet site to a mobile-only app known as ‘Hello English’ by
Culture Alley.
Challenges faced
 Role Conflict:
Pranshu was married when she started this venture. She
had to play various roles with in the family and at the same
time was also struggle with the startup.

 Marketing:
She started the venture with an online website but
initially targeting the needy learners was a tough task.

 Business relationships:
When she inculcated the idea on couching through
skype by the experts at that time finding the experts,
involving them actively and meeting the learners need to the
full was a crucial task.

 Networking:
When she network of learners became huge it became
difficult to handle each of learner individually hence she
shifted from online website to mobile app, thereby bringing
in more ease and on-the-go learning.
Present
• Launched in October 2014, the app currently has a subscriber
base of 1.2 crores and has received an overwhelmingly
positive response with an average rating of 4.5/5 with over 1.6
lakh reviews.

• CultureAlley is redefining learning with intuitive audio-visual


lessons and interactive observe games. they provide lessons in
English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Japanese, Italian, French,
Korean
The emergence of entrepreneurs like Pranshu Patni may be a clear
indicator that girls entrepreneurs aren’t any longer a rare breed.
