studied in Humanities?
Describe each.
(10 points)
1. Visual-These are the arts that meet the eye and evoke an emotion through an
expression of skill and imagination. They include the most ancient forms, such as
painting and drawing, and the arts that were born thanks to the development of
technology, like sculpture, printmaking, photography, and installation art.
2. The performing arts range from vocal and instrumental music, dance and theatre to
pantomime, sung verse and beyond. They include numerous cultural expressions that
reflect human creativity and that are also found, to some extent, in many other intangible
cultural heritage domains.
3. Philosophy is the systematized study of general and fundamental questions, such as those
concerning existence, reason, knowledge, values, mind, and language. Some sources claim
the term was coined by Pythagoras, although this theory is disputed by some.
4. Literature is any collection of written work, but it is also used more narrowly for writings
specifically considered to be an art form, especially prose fiction, drama, and poetry. In
recent centuries, the definition has expanded to include oral literature, much of which has
been transcribed.
5. Religion is a range of social-cultural systems, including designated behaviors and practices,
morals, beliefs, worldviews, texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, or organizations,
that generally.
6. History is the study of change over time, and it covers all aspects of human society.
Political, social, economic, scientific, technological, medical, cultural, intellectual,
religious and military developments are all part of history.
7. Language is the most important method of human communication. A language consists
of a set of words and sounds used in a structured way and is communicated between
people through speaking, writing, and gestures.
8. The history of art focuses on objects made by humans for any number of spiritual,
narrative, philosophical, symbolic, conceptual, documentary, decorative, and even
functional and other purposes, but with a primary emphasis on its aesthetic visual form
9. The word classics is derived from the Latin adjective classicus, meaning "belonging to
the highest class of citizens." The word was originally used to describe the members of
the Patricians, the highest class in ancient Rome.

Q2. Briefly describe the differences between art creation and art appreciation.
(5 points)
Essentially, the greatest difference is the lens of understanding. Art history takes a
wider view to include the context in which a piece of art was created. Art appreciation
focuses primarily on the technical skills and applications used to create the piece of art.

Application/Follow-up Activity
Write a one or two-paragraph essay or article with any of the following theme:
1. Art in my life
Art has played a significant role in my life since I was young. It has been a source of inspiration,
comfort, and self-expression. From drawing and painting to music and literature, art has always been
a way for me to connect with the world around me.
As a child, I spent countless hours drawing and coloring. It was a way for me to express my creativity
and imagination. As I grew older, I discovered the power of music. Listening to my favorite songs
helped me through difficult times and inspired me to pursue my passions.
In college, I studied literature and fell in love with the written word. Reading classic novels like To
Kill a Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby opened up new worlds for me and taught me valuable life
lessons.
Today, art continues to play an important role in my life. Whether it's visiting museums or attending
concerts, experiencing different forms of art helps me appreciate the beauty of life even more. Art is
not just something that exists outside of us; it is an integral part of who we are as human beings.
