Crop Diversification
• refers to the addition of new crops or cropping systems to
agricultural production on a particular farm taking into
account the different returns from value-added crops with
complementary marketing opportunities.

• Practice of growing more than one crop (or enterprise) in any


year to increase financial and biological stability of the farm.
Advantages:
1.Better/ maximized use of land, labor and capital
2.Less risk to crop failure and market price of the product.
3. Regular and quicker return is obtained from various
enterprises.
4. Soil erosion can be checked as land kept under cultivated
throughout the year
