MYANMAR POLICE FORCE:

-Formally known as The People’s Police Force


(Bumese: Pyi Thu Yae Tup Pwe)
-Established in 1964 as independent department
-There are 14 State and Divisional
Police Forces and three additional
State/Division Police Forces
commanded by Police Brigader or
Colonels. Their jurisdictions are
divided according to the Civil
Administration. The States and
Divisions, Additional States have the
same status.
Each state and divisional police force
of four components
 Office of the commander of the state and divisional
police force
 Office of the commander of the district police office
 Office of the commander of the township police force
 Police station
TRAINING CENTERS
 Central Training Institute of Myanmar Police Force
 No. 1 Police Training Depot: Undertakes basic training
course for Police Sergeant for two years; warrant officer
and police sergeant course for 12 weeks; and basic
training course for constable for 6 months.
 No. 2 Police Training Depot: Undertakes only basic
training course for constable, which normally takes
around 6 months to complete.
