Thailand is the world's 50th-largest country by total area and the 21stmost-
populous country. The capital and largest city is Bangkok, a special administrative
area. It is a unitary state with a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary
democracy. The most recent coup, in 2014, established a de facto military
dictatorship under a junta.

Thailand (Royal Thai Police)

Royal Thai Police (RTP) first came into existence in the year 1455, over 500 years
ago. However, the modernization of the RTP system came during the reign of King
Rama IV, designed by an Englishman named Captain Joseph Byrd Ames. Captain
Ames was the Captain of an English vessel at the time but was given the
responsibility for establishing the first uniform police unit in Thailand. Ames,
himself, was appointed the first uniform police commander by King Rama IV.
The present structure of RTP is governed by a Royal Decree on the Division of the
Royal Thai Police, created in 2009. It is comprised of thirty bureaus and six
divisions directly under the RTP.

The national police of Thailand is known as the Royal Thai Police and it's main
responsibility is to see to it that the laws of the country are followed by the citizens
and whoever breaches these laws is appropriately punished. There are 30 police
bureaus under RTP and another 5 divisions as well The National Police department
of TNDP is a unitary agency which has fulfills the function of enforcement of law
and is a very powerful body. The Thai Police has a well detailed hierarchical
structure on the basis of which it functions and divides power.

TRAINING AND METHODS OF
POLICE PERSONNEL IN
THAILAND
The training and methods of police personnel in Thailand include both
basic and advanced training programs. Basic training is provided to new
recruits, while advanced training is provided to experiences police officers
to enhance their skills and knowledge.
BASIC TRAINING
The basic training progra for police personnel in Thailand is conducted at
the Royal Police Cadet Academy (RPCA) in Nakhon Pathom province. The
program lasts for three years and covers a range of topics, including:
