Uses and

Gratification Theory
PULP FICTION/FIGHT CLUB
. Entertainment

 Pulp Fiction is entertaining because of how it merges genres such as

crime, drama, action and comedy and the fact that the more you
re-watch it the more things you pick up about the plot. Fight club is
entertaining because again of how it successfully merges the
comedy and action genres and again the more you watch the
more you pick up on things that you would not have noticed the first
time around.
. Information / Education

 In terms of information these two media texts offer new points of

views for the audience to see through, weather that is through pulp
fiction which creates some very different interpretations of the crime
drama genre and older films it references that the audience may
not know of or fight club and the different themes it presents some
of which are consumer culture, violence, chaos and societal
breakdown.
Personal identification

 Some people may personally identify with films in the case of these
two films with Pulp Fiction personal identification can be found
through the fairly normal conversations some of these criminals have
and in fight club personal identification can be found with how the
main character views his job or his life.
An example of this for pulp fiction can be seen in the clip

. Social Interaction

 Pulp fiction and fight club create social interactions because as I

have said before the more you watch them the more you pick up
on information you would not have seen the first time around and
this is why these two films still have active fan bases and are still
regularly talked about.
Conclusion/Summary

 In conclusion I would say me and others may find these kind of

movies entertaining because of the points I have talked about
